The Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam approached me to make a mural covering three walls for their exhibition ‘Zeur Niet!’ about Dutch musicals. The mural represents the future of Dutch musicals.
Technically it was a challenge for me as I’d never produced anything bigger than A1. I drew the elements on an iPad Pro, using Procreate, and assembled each wall (they were 3×5 metres each) in a Photoshop document on a precise scale of 1:10, taking physical attributes such as screens and chairs into account.
My old computer groaned at the time (and has since been replaced :-)), but it worked and the technical team at Allard Pierson did an amazing job of mounting the strips of printed wallpaper together seamlessly.
The exhibition runs through October 30th 2022.
